And we're open!

What an amazing couple of weeks since our last blog! The doors to Victoria’s Cafe Kitchen Bar are now well and truly open, 7 days and 5 nights a week. And what a ride it has been to get here – thank you EVERYONE for your support, it has been amazing.

Our first ‘proper’ full day was yesterday, Saturday, 4th October. As the day rush calmed down (nothing like re-opening just before school holidays!), the lights were dimmed, the fire was lit, the evening chefs set to work on preparing delicious platters and scrumptious mains and the bar mixed cocktails and poured prosecco. The restaurant was filling up with those in to enjoy the vibrant yet homely order to enjoy this for yourselves, please either pop in, call us or email to make a reservation.

Prior to this though, we had been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that all went to plan. We hosted the Sunday Supplier Shout last Sunday to say thank you to all of the tradesfolk and our suppliers who have supported us through this time; the Lakeman Beer on tap flowed and the kitchen produced some amazing nibbles as a taster of what was to come!

We then had a test run evening, full service on Wednesday. Those invited felt priveledged to be the first to sit and dine at Victoria’s! The atmosphere was divine, the drinks delicious and the food sublime! The idea was to gain feedback on what worked and what needed improvement, all in time for our grand opening on Friday 3rd!

We rolled out the red carpet and got our best black or white (or both!) outfits on and gave Victoria’s the welcome that it so rightly deserves with over 100 guests in attendance. Thank you to the Mayor for taking the time to come and cut the ribbon and stay for a drink or two. Those who had booked were also able to stay for a fantastic 2 course meal and party in to the night! Vic kicked her shoes off and was ready to use the newly polished concrete floor as the dancefloor! What a fun night!

Victoria and the team would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported us on this journey so far – here’s to raising the bar in Taupo and Life is Good!
